Tumultuous Relationship

I got my 1st abortion at age 18. My boyfriend and I had a very tumultuous relationship & when I tested positive after taking a pregnancy test, I was so worried about what I should do. I wasn’t ready to be a mother, nor was my very jealous and verbally abusive boyfriend. He shared with his mom that I was pregnant and she convinced me that the right thing to do for both of our futures was to seek an abortion. I never regretted that decision.

My boyfriend was incredibly insecure, jealous, controlling and abusive. I was lucky to get out of the relationship after 3.5 years. I would have been tied to him for life and may not have survived that relationship. If we had a child together, he would have never let me go. Neither of us would have gone on to get an education and get better paying jobs to support our family.
